Founder/Band Leader

Gloria Bailey, MsG is a Detroiter through and through! She grew up in a family of musicians and singers. MsG started singing at a young age in the church. She developed her skills through years as a church organist, learning and training under some of Detroit's finest gospel legends. MsG became interested in performing in local bands in her late 20's. In September of 2005, Gnote7 was birthed with her daughter Kyra. Today, The Gnote7 Band is a collaboration of seasoned performers with a passion for creating memorable experiences for their audiences.

Musical Style

MsG's musical style is a unique fusion of jazz, gospel, blues, and soul. MsG loves to showcase Gnote7's powerful voices and emotive performances which have earned us a loyal fan base across the Metro Detroit area and surrounding cities. Whether performing classic covers or original material, The Gnote7 Band delivers a captivating performance where she is proud every time. MsG often declares, "We can roll with the best! Lead and Background Vocals

LaRonn "Souldeacon" Dolley, a native of Detroit, MI, ignited his passion for music during his sophomore year at Osborn High school, where he discovered his love for singing. In late 2005 he took a significant step in his musical journey by joining Gnote7 as one of the lead vocalist. Over the years LaRonn has showcased his versatile vocal talents in various guy groups , providing background vocals while also performing as a featured artist, His humble demeanor and passion for singing, makes LaRonn standout in every show. He comes ready to entertain whether its a smooth ballad or a foot tapping funk tune, you'll know its party time!

His dynamic stage presence has allowed him to open for both local and nationally recognized recording artist. LaRonn's rich voice and soulful performances brings a personalized flavor to Gnote7! LaRonn also called Souldeacon, connects with the audiences leaving a lasting impact on the music community. His journey reflects a deep commitment to his craft and the vibrant musical heritage of Detroit.

Marleana "Journey" Gainey

Lead and Background Vocals

Journey is the essence of beauty, with the voice of an angel, who sings lead and background vocals. A truly beautiful soul. A native Detroiter, business entrepreneur and an integral part of Gnote7, that flows with any audience that experiences her! Her ability to connect with the audience is fluidly amazing. One moment she’s singing a sweet melody and the next she is rocking out with the funk Gnote7 is known for. From intimate acoustic sessions to high energy funk selections, she doesn't miss! Journey is also an excellent coordinator with business savvy that enhances her strong presence in Gnote7. She is featured with numerous artist in her musical portfolio. Journey will take you there! Synonymous with her name!

Marc Freeman~ Sax

Marc Freeman, A native son of Detroit, MI grew up in a family of musicians and started playing piano and saxophone at a young age. He honed his skills through years of training and performing in local bands. Marc's unique fusion of jazz, blues, and soul makes his Sax sing to audiences large or small. Marc is a seasoned performer with a passion for creating memorable experiences for his audiences. His father was a saxophonist on the local and national scene and his mom was an accomplished pianist. The rich mellow voicings Marc delivers on his instruments brings fire to the Alto, tenor and soprano sax. The sax solos and fill-ins are on point and he fills the room with dynamics in just the right places. He can talk to you through the pads of his horn in a musical language the feeds the soul!

WIlmonie "Will" Page

Wilmonie has performed at numerous venues here in Detroit and events across the country. From intimate acoustic sets to high performances. Will has a versatile range of musical styles that can cater to any audience. Will is multi talented. In addition to being a smooth velvet vocalist, With a dangerous tenor range, he is an accomplished trumpet player, keyboardist and an accomplished songwriter, having written and co-written songs for various artist. He is an amazing vocal coach that keeps our harmonies in check when rehearsing. Will shares many gifts with our audiences and they always want more!

BAM! ~ Percussionist

Ramonty "BAM" Houze has a musical style that encompasses a blend of pop, gospel, R&B, funk and soul. With a powerful foot and dynamic stage presence, Bam delivers a captivating performance that leaves audiences wanting more. He sets the tone with the rhythms he releases on his drums. You can't help but groove to the beat! If you're looking for a unique and exciting musical experience, The Gnote7 Band is the perfect choice for your event because we got Bam holding it all together! Bam is a native Detroiter who began in church at 8 years old playing the drums. Since that time, he has cultivated his gift and is one of Detroit’s finest percussionist. A man of a few words that speaks volumes when he is behind his kit and brings the thunder when on his throne. He loves his craft, and it is reflected in the Gnote7 vibe that rocks the house. Meet the man who sits behind the skin and the metal. Bam has the beat that will make you move your feet!

DJ ~ Lead Guitar

Donovan Johnson "DJ" has performed at numerous events and venues throughout the country. From weddings to corporate events, DJ's expertise on his guitar creates an unforgettable experience for each audience. Throughout DJ's career, he has collaborated with a variety of artists and musicians. From recording sessions to live performances, he has worked with some of the most talented musicians in the industry. His theatrical approach to the performances brings an excitement to our audiences as well as Gnote7! Also to his credit, Donovan "DJ" Johnson is a versatile guitarist that can seamlessly float genres between R&B, Jazz, Rock and Blues. He was the Music Director for the Motown tribute group Serieux and Ollie Woodson's Temptations Review. This led to performing performing in Las Vegas, New York, LA and across the country. In addition, the Caribbean islands of Jamaica, Bermuda, Barbados, Dominican Republic and St Thomas. DJ has also worked as guitarist for national acts and saxophonists Ronnie Laws, Paul Taylor and Pamela Williams. Well rounded and still grounded!
